Analysis of future technologies and their impact on society as presented in the show Black Mirror
Kaplan, Miloslav ; Langerová, Petra (referee) ; Šedrlová, Magdalena (advisor)
The bachelor thesis is focused on the description of robots and social media from selected episodes from the television series Black Mirror. It briefly deals with the description of the story and the message of selected episodes. For each selected episode, it focuses mainly on the technical feasibility of the depicted technologies. In this work, robots and social media from the Black Mirror are compared with modern equivalents from the real world. The bachelor thesis also discusses the advantages and disadvantages of social media and robots, including their impact on our society. It also deals with the ethical and social aspects of these technologies. The main aim of the bachelor thesis is to provide insight into the technologies used in the Black Mirror series.
Robots of the present and the future
Science Fiction and the Prediction of Technology, Past and Present
Skorobogatova, Margarita ; Sedláček, Pavel (referee) ; Froehling, Kenneth (advisor)
Závěr popisuje výsledky provedených výzkumů a definuje případný vývoj v budoucnu.
Terraforming Mars
Gabriel, Michael ; Frlorián,, Miloš (referee) ; Mléčka, Jan (advisor)
Terraforming mars by autonomous robotic building system, inspired by social insect. Idea design of robotic solution, their transportation and software. Design of structures builded by robots and their function. Pyramidal structures interwoven with ice tunnel, heat the atmosphere of Mars and accumulate heat in their mass. These structures are built with cheap and simple robots that mimic the behavior of social insects.
Swarm Intelligence in Robotic Simulators
Vician, Tomáš ; Hynčica, Ondřej (referee) ; Honzík, Petr (advisor)
This thesis is focused on realization of the swarm intelligence experiments in the simulation software Vortex and MRDS. The aim is to decide whether the achieved results meet the theoretical expectations based on the published experiment.
Times X
Němec, Jakub ; Jakalová, Zuzana (referee) ; Mikyta, Svätopluk (advisor)
Bachelor thesis time X is a creative science fiction story about a perfect society undefined future, which is built on the necessary global genocide in favor of the existence of life on the planet. The analytical work I examine the origin and development of the new company, global ecological changes, code of ethics and the position of art in this system. I apply the theoretical platform for the visual identity of a fictitious company.
Humans, artificial intelligence and sentience
Mendelová, Michaela ; Vostal, Filip (advisor) ; Tremčinský, Martin (referee)
The thesis is based on the secondary analysis of data from the 2021 AIMS study. It is centered on the sentience, moral consideration, and social integration of artificial intelligence. My goal was to use a segmenting procedure (latent class analysis) to calculate classes or groups of respondents, based on their opinions on topics such as the inclusion of sentient AI and robots, animals, and the environment in the moral circle, granting legal rights to sentient AI, and support of the well-being of AI in the form of protection from harm or the perceived danger of AI for society. The analysis offers some results suggesting that there are 3 groups within the respondents and therefore possibly some groups in the US society. Class 1 is very contradictory, some respondents in this class are very supportive of AI, and some of them are not. Yet, overall, they tend to think that sentient technology can be dangerous. This class is generally the oldest and least frequently informed about AI. Class 2 is generally supportive of the welfare of AI, but these respondents prefer passive support. These respondents do not think that sentient AI can be dangerous for them, but they think that it can be dangerous to future people. This class is generally the youngest. Class 3 are respondents who had the biggest chance to...
RPA Project Management
KASTNEROVÁ, Tereza
The work is focused on the research of the effectiveness of robotic process automation in companies. It examines not only its benefits and economic impact, but also the integration of this software robot into the company. How such a robot is accepted among employees and whether companies are subsequently satisfied with its help. Three interviews were conducted with companies that have experience with RPA. Their knowledge and experience subsequently helped to solve the goal of this work.

Technological unemployment
Miňovský, Michael ; Vlček, Josef (advisor) ; Lupač, Petr (referee)
(in English): Will robotisation lead to unemployment? What will be the society-wide impact of automation? Will it affect the economy? And what is the general macroeconomic and microeconomic context of such developments? These and many other questions are asked throughout this thesis. On the next 70 or so pages, a detailed overview of changes connected with robotics revolution is provided, while the primary topic is the issue of technological unemployment. Based on the study of historical evidence, there is a proposition pronounced on a qualitative difference between current technology and earlier technological milestones consisting in the ability of the machines to substitute not only routine manual work but the non-routine cognitive tasks as well. This hypothesis is then being developed and analysed through a more detailed examination of the fundamental differences of robotics and the current technological foundation of industry and services. The method employed is a critical analysis of other authors' works, thanks to which it was possible to present impressive results such as the list of probabilities of automating a wide spectrum of jobs in the course of the next few decades based on an extrapolation of the current level of progress in machine learning and data mining. In the end, a synthesis...
